I’d love to become a journalist one day. My inspiration comes from my aunt who is an awesome journalist, one of the top in her field. I’ve been very close to my aunt since I was a little kid and whatever she’s passionate about has certain influence on me. Ok back to the question. Why would I like to be a journalist? First of all, Journalism helps us to be informed of current affair, what’s going on in your own country and the world. For example, because of the news we are able to know about the pandemic, how widespread it is and how devastating it affects many countries in the world. From there, we can develop strategies to protect ourselves and our own country. Another thing I like about the job itself is that, you could travel to different places and talk to a lot of interesting people from all walks of life. Their stories could be tragic that needs the society’s attention such as stories of homeless people living under the bridge or the challenges that primary school students living in small villages have to deal with during rainy season to go to school. One fascinating story I know is a lot of students in those villages stay in a plastic bag, and an adult will carry them crossing the river against the fast moving current. Once those stories are brought to light by journalists, the whole society will try to find the solution for those unfortunate children. Additionally, Sometimes, journalists also get to interview people who are at the top of their fields or meeting celebrities. I think that’s pretty cool. Another thing about being a journalist is that your schedule can be quite flexible. Instead of working from 9 to 5, you can pretty much control your own schedule. To be honest I find the 9-5 jobs are incredibly depressing. Lastly, it’s a pretty well-paid job as well. I’m not really sure how much exactly but based on my aunt’s lifestyle, I’d say it’s a decent amount. So, those are the reasons that being a journalist  is my dream job.
